HISTORY
Our school started functioning as a Primary
school from 2003 starting from 1st standard
under the name Saraswathy Vidya Nikethan as a
unit of Bharatheeya Vidya Nikethan which in turn
is the Kerala chapter of the all India body
VIDYA BHARATHI. Bharatheeya Vidya Nikethan has
been registered as a society under Travancore-Cochin
State Societies Act- 12 of 1955, Reg. No.
1119/79.
Our School was originally started in
the year 2001 with a humble beginning as a
Sisuvatika (Bala-nikethan) for nursery students
in Thatched Sheds in a leased premise at
Kottappuram in Thrissur. From 2003, it has been
functioning as a primary school starting with
first standard under the name
SaraswathyVidyaNikethan (affiliated to
BharatheeyaVidyaNikethan - which, in turn, is
the Kerala Chapter of the all India body of
VIDYA BHARATHI).
In 2004, one of our well wishers and Director
Board Member Sri G.B.S Mani donated 2.06 acres
of land in a prime area of Thrissur for
constructing the school within the City. In
deference to the wishes of the donor and for
sentimental values, the school was re named as -THRIKKUR
GOPALAKRISHNA SASTRY AND LAKSHMI MEMORIAL
SARASWATHY VIDYA NIKETHAN (TGSM-SVN) in 2006.
The school was
shifted to the new
premises at
Udayanagar,
Ayyanthole,Thrissur,
beginning with the
academic year
2008-2009, with
classes upto 6th
standard. The
classes were
subsequently
increased one by one
and at present the
school is
functioning with
classes from LKG to
X Standard with a total
strength of 369,
under CBSE syllabus.
The school is equipped
with Composite Lab,
Computer Lab, Smart
Class rooms, Library
etc.
The management is represented by the President of Vidyalaya Samithy Shri.
M.Venugopal (Rtd.Principal, DIET Thrissur &
Vice President of BharatheeyaVidyanikethan, Kerala) and
Secretary is Shri.S.Kalyanakrishnan
(Rtd.General Manager of the KSCARD Bank,TVM & State Committee Member of Bharatheeya Kisan Sangh). Manager is Sri. M.K Asokan.
The
source for funds required for capital
expenditure towards infrastructure development
is through donations from well wishers and
philanthropists. The regular running expenses
like salary, and other
miscellaneous and incidental expenses are met from the fees
collected from students.
School works 5 days in a week from Monday to
Friday from 8.45 am to 3.30 pm. School Assembly is
called as Prarthana Sabha, and is held before
the beginning of regular classes every working day.
The teaching
staff includes well qualified, trained, experienced and dedicated teachers under
the leadership of the Principal Mrs. Keerthi Varma.
We have obtained CBSE affiliation, No. 931446, and school No. 76461 vide their letter CBSE / 931446/SL-00338-2223-2022-23 dated 28/02/2022 for conducting classes up to secondary level.
